ED SHEERAN: Marriage Proposal Disaster

Ed Sheeran planned the perfect marriage proposal. Then nothing went according to plan – other than Cherry Seaborn saying “yes.” But Ed was on his knees pleading to get her to agree.

They tied the knot two years ago. Long enough for Ed to finally tell his side for the first time on a Swedish talk show. Cherry’s parents never wed and are still together. Marriage is not important to her. Ed got down on one knee before asking. “Will you marry me?”

The first thing that Cherry blurted out was (quote) “are you freaking joking?”

Ed engraved the date of the proposal inside the diamond ring. On that day, it rained like crazy. When he repeatedly asked Cherry if she wanted to take a romantic stroll through their garden, her reply was always “no.” Ed recalled, (quote) “Time was ticking.
