Lists are made to be debated. Pitchfork published their list of the “Most Important Artists” from the past quarter-century. The singers who arrived on the music scene after Alanis Morrisette released Jagged Little Pill.

These are the female singers to make the biggest impact in music over the last 25-years, according to Pitchfork: Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliot, Lana Del Rey, Aaliyah and Fiona Apple.
