Rumors of Shawn Mendes breaking up with Camila Cabello are true.

The pair released a joint statement via Instagram Stories that the “Shawmila” romance is over. Yet, their friendship endures. The message to their followers concluded, (quote) “We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.” (People)

In the summer of 2019, Camila tagged along with Shawn’s world tour. They publicly hooked up for the first time in Los Angeles on the Fourth of July.

Earlier this week, the Instagram gossip account @DeuxMoi posted the rumor of a split. A passenger heard Camila sitting in business class asking a friend, while scrolling through in-flight movies, “What would you watch if you just went through a breakup? Happy things or sad movies?” They chose an upbeat flick because Camila did not want to “start sobbing on this plane.”
