New feel: The Baby singer was seen in a black and white shot getting acclimated to his new do

In another social media shot, the Baby singer was seen in a black and white shot getting acclimated to his new hairdo.

The Peaches singer’s controversy comes amid the connection between dreadlocks and Black identity and culture, with many social media users calling out the white artist after he was involved in a similar scandal in 2016.

Writer Feminista Jones explained to CNN in 2016 said that ‘cultural appropriation is about the power dynamic. She said, ‘When people with power and privilege decide to “validate” customs and traditions that oppressed people have long been marginalized for by saying “This is the hot new thing,” then we have serious problems.’

Other celebrities who have past been linked to cultural appropriation scandals include Kim Kardashian, Iggy Azalea and Miley Cyrus.
