WILL SMITH: Learns Fate on Friday

Will Smith will learn his fate tomorrow from the Motion Picture Academy.

Originally, the Academy Board of Governors planned to meet on April 18th to determine how they will punish Will Smith. That date got pushed up 10-days.

Academy president David Rubin sent a memo to Board members (quote) “It is in the best interest of all involved for this to be handled in a timely fashion. I am calling a board meeting for this Friday morning to address possible sanctions for Will Smith.”

Last week, Will Smith resigned from the Academy and effectively took suspension or expulsion off the table. He’s no longer eligible to vote for the Oscars but can attend the awards ceremony and be nominated for an Academy Award. (Variety)
