WENDY WILLIAMS: Rehab, Again

Wendy Williams checked into a rehab clinic to address her downward spiral into abusing substances. A close friend told the New York Post (quote) “She can’t stop drinking and she needs to stop drinking. It’s gotten worse. She went from wine to straight up vodka.”

Her publicist, Shawn Zanotti, released a statement on Wednesday (quote) “Wendy has entered a wellness facility to focus on her health as she prepares for a major comeback.”

She’s visited rehab clinics before. This time feels different because Wendy has not been herself for more than a year. Staff of her TV show discovered hidden bottles of booze in the office ceiling.

This time last year, she abandoned her daytime talk show. Producers became so concerned that they created — just in case — a video obituary. A backstage source conformed (quote) “It was basically a highlight reel honoring all Wendy’s greatest moments playing over very sad music.” (New York Post)
