THE WEEKND: Threatens to Kill Himself

The Weeknd has been studying pop music history. He named his latest single “Double Fantasy,” the same title of a John Lennon – Yoko Ono album from 1980. And now he’s threatening to go full Ziggy Stardust and kill off his pop star alter-ego.

Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, told W magazine, (quote) “It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter. I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn.” (W magazine)
