MADONNA: Bio-Pic Cast Lead

Madonna has cast the lead in her bio-pic.

Julia Garner will play the 20-something Madonna establishing a music career in New York City.

Madonna will direct the movie. She said on Tuesday, (quote) “The focus of this film will always be music. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.”

The 28-year-old Garner starred this year in the Netflix series Inventing Anna. She’s also appeared in Netflix’s Ozark that just wrapped. She won a pair of Emmys for her supporting role in Ozark.

Singers Bebe Rexha and Sky Ferreira auditioned. Madonna chose to go with a trained actor, who can be a convincing singer and follow the choreography. (Variety)
