Strong winds, pounding waves, and a powerful rip current caused two beachfront homes on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to collapse into the Atlantic Ocean and get swept out to sea.

Both homes were unoccupied at the time. Video captured the moment the second home, standing on wooden support beams, buckled and fell into the rough waters. Officials are warning that more homes on the beach may be in danger of collapsing.
