Will Smith had an Oedipus complex – he wanted to kill his father.
In his upcoming autobiography, due next week, Smith confesses to hating his dad so much that he had murder on the mind. Five years ago, Will Senior died of cancer – or that’s the official story.
Will Smith wrote in the book, (quote) “One night, as I delicately wheeled him from his bedroom toward the bathroom, a darkness arose within me. The path between the two rooms goes past the top of the stairs. I could shove him down, and easily get away with it.”
Smith wanted revenge for how brutal his dad had been toward his mother. Smith recalls violent attacks when he was a young boy. At age 9, he did not defend his mom and he felt guilt well into adulthood. (People)
