THE WEEKND: Demanded Kanye’s *Coachella* Salary

The Weeknd will play Coachella on April 17th and 24th. He will take home the same amount of money that Kanye West left on the table.

The Weeknd demanded the same money as Kanye’s contract. He threatened to walk away unless Coachella paid him $8.5 million.

A source leaked to the New York Post, (quote) “Even after Coachella announced the new lineup on Wednesday, a deal wasn’t in place for The Weeknd. Faced with the prospect of a second headline act pulling out of Coachella at the last minute — they caved and agreed to pay The Weeknd $8.5 million.”
