R. KELLY: Two More Lawyers Leave

R. Kelly is down two more lawyers after attorneys Steve Greenberg and Michael Leonard filed to officially withdraw from the case.

There was tension amongst the singer’s legal teams after he hired two new lawyers who his existing lawyers said were “impossible” to work alongside. Greenberg told the Chicago Sun-Times that the issue came down to lack of experience, saying, “We weren’t comfortable professionally with allowing lawyers who have never tried federal criminal cases to have significant trial responsibilities.” Kelly seemed to agree with the shake-up, telling a judge last week that he agrees with the decision to drop Greenberg and Leonard.

His trial is set for August 18th in Brooklyn.
