JUSSIE SMOLLETT: Released From Jail

One week after a judge sentenced Jussie Smollett to 150 days in jail, the Cook County appeals court ordered his release. Five bodyguards protected Smollett last night as he walked free from a Chicago jail.

Smollett intends to appeal his conviction on staging a hate crime. The appellate court ruled that the actor may go free as the case meanders through the criminal justice system.

Who knows how long Smollett can remain free? To his benefit, it could be several years. His arrest was more than three years ago. (Variety)
