Dr. Dre sold his music catalog to Universal Music and Shamrock Holdings for a little more than $200 million.

He had placed a quarter-billion price tag to purchase rights to a pair of solo albums, songwriting royalties, Dre’s producer royalties and his share of N.W.A. royalties.

Universal Music will acquire the master recording of Dre’s debut album The Chronic. Universal already owns the Taylor Swift’s master recordings she could not secure from mega-manager Scooter Braun.. (Billboard)
