Dennis Rodman will negotiate for the safe return of WNBA all-star, Brittney Griner. The Russians sentenced her to 9-years in prison for illegal drug possession. Custom agents claim they discovered in Brittney’s luggage less than a gram of cannabis oil.
Rodman told NBC News on Sunday (quote) “I know Vladimir Putin. I got permission to go to Russia. I’m trying to go this week.”
The U.S. State Department labeled Russia as a “Do Not Travel” country after Putin invaded Ukraine. American citizens may visit Russia but they risk becoming political pawns just like Brittney Griner.
The White House attempted but failed a prisoner swap featuring a notorious Russian weapons dealer. It’s unclear what Dennis Rodman can offer to Putin that will get him to release Brittney Griner.
