DAVE CHAPPELLE: Attacker Held in Custody

Details have emerged about the man that attacked Dave Chappelle, who was in the middle of a Hollywood Bowl standup routine.

Police arrested 23-year-old Isaiah Lee, who was roughed up by Chappelle’s backstage entourage. A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said, (quote) “The suspect produced a replica handgun. Hollywood Bowl uniformed security officers, who witnessed the incident, engaged the suspect.” (New York Post)

Dave Chappelle escaped injury despite Lee brandishing the pistol-grip knife. He remains in custody. He’s unable to make bond on charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon.

Internet sleuths uncovered a track titled after the comic on YouTube. The song “Dave Chappell” (misspelled) by rapper NoName Trapper. The account belongs to an Isaiah Lee. (People)
