Netflix watched Adele’s CBS concert special, One Night Only. Then saw the large audience it attracted — more than 10 million against Sunday Night Football. So Netflix approached Adele and offered her several million dollars to document next summer’s concerts in London.

Adele sold-out two shows at the 2022 Hyde Park Summer Festival.

An industry exec explain how Netflix and Adele would benefit (quote) “Adele’s plans for a world tour are on ice because of Covid. This film could bring Adele live closer to fans who weren’t able to get tickets.”  (The Sun, UK)

This concert film could replicate what Beyonce did with her Coachella performances. She turned those shows into a behind-the-scenes documentary for Netflix. Naturally, what made Homecoming so compelling was Beyonce’s dancing the pageantry.
