Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard could not help but rub salt into the wounds of the Los Angeles Clippers following Tuesday night’s monumental Game 7 collapse against the Denver Nuggets.

Lillard took aim at none other than Clippers guard Patrick Beverley, asking the feisty veteran about his plans now that he’s on vacation.

However, Dame was nice enough to invite Beverley to Mexico, now that he and the rest of the Clippers have officially joined Lillard in the offseason.

@patbev21 I guess I should extend this Cancun invite since I haven’t made my arrangements yet 😂😂😂

The Nuggets have just completed an improbable comeback from 3-1 down in the series, thanks to an amazing performance against the second-seeded Clippers. Denver showed off their stifling defense in the second half,  outscoring LA 50-33 after the break.

For his part, Beverley actually wasn’t bad in this one, coming up with a couple of key defensive plays in the final period as the Clippers tried to mount a comeback. He finished with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, to go with five boards, six assists, three steals and a block in 30 minutes of play. This was ultimately all for nothing, though, with the Clips now on their way out of the bubble.

Damian Lillard has had his moments with Beverley, and it’s safe to say that these two are not exactly fond of each other — on the basketball court, at least. The Blazers guard saw an opportunity to take his shot, and being the clutch player that he is, he did not hesitate to deliver a bit of a sucker punch on Pat Bev.

Beverley is not one to back down from pretty much anything, so it will be interesting to see how he responds to Lillard’s barb here.
