We at Star 106.5 FM firmly believe that positive reinforcement is important in building self esteem, especially in children. We also feel that applauding the accomplishments of children is a key component of this process.
We wish to encourage teachers, principals and other members of faculty to observe their "Stars" and nominate them for our "Star of the Day" program. In this effort, we aim to recognize students that not only excel in academics, sports and community service but those students that are simply "putting their best foot forward" each and every day, in doing the very best that they can.
Beginning the academic year of 2008, the accomplishments of these students will be celebrated every Monday and Friday morning at 7:30am during the Morning Express with Tony and Greg and again just before Jeff Lloyd takes to the air at 4:27pm. These children, who will be drawn from both private and public institutions from Elementary, Junior High and High Schools; will also be featured in The Nassau Guardian and shall receive gifts from our sponsors.
Our goal is to cover all schools in alphabetical order and will advise you in advance of your school's intended schedule. Once the candidate has been selected, recording times will be arranged and the necessary interviews conducted, either at school or the studios of Star 106.5 FM (located in The Nassau Guardian building Oakes Field).

We look forward to your participation in this project.
