R. KELLY: Sexual Abuse Charges Dropped

R.Kelly will escape prosecution in Illinois on four sexual abuse indictments.

State prosecutors will formally dismiss the charges today during a hearing in Chicago. He’s been convicted on federal charges stemming from many of the same victims.

Attorney Kim Foxx said yesterday (quote) “Our office decided not to expend our limited resources and court time. R.Kelly is looking at the possibility of never walking out of prison again. We believe justice has been served.”

Last year, R.Kelly was sentenced to 30-years in New York for racketeering. His first eligible release date coincides with his 80th birthday. He still awaits sentencing from a Chicago trial where R.Kelly was convicted of child pornography and sex trafficking. (Chicago Sun-Times)
