Just when you thought people had heard enough about Prince Harry‘s memoir, Spare, the book sold a whopping 1.4 million copies in its first day out.
Following several high-profile TV interviews to promote the book, publisher Penguin Random House says the intimate, no holds barred tell-all is on a record-setting pace for a non-fiction book. In comparison, Michelle Obama‘s 2018 memoir Becoming needed a week to reach 1.4 million copies sold. The book is already the U.K.’s fastest-selling book ever. The publisher said in a statement, “We always knew this book would fly but it is exceeding even our most bullish expectations. As far as we know, the only books to have sold more in their first day are those starring the other Harry (Potter).” (South China Morning Post)
