ARIANA GRANDE: Double Feature

Ariana Grande’s motion picture debut will be a double-feature.

She’s starring in the adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked. The movie’s director said on Tuesday they need two movies to tell the story.

John Wu wrote, (quote) “As we tried to cut songs or trim characters, those decisions began to feel like fatal compromises. We decided to give ourselves a bigger canvas and make not just one Wicked movie but two!”

They are scheduled for release on Christmas 2024 and Christmas 2025. Ariana is cast as Glinda the good witch opposite Cynthia Erivo as the Wicked Witch of the West. Wicked is the prequel to The Wizard of Oz. (Variety)
