SHERRI SHEPHERD: Replacing Wendy Williams

It looks like Wendy Williams’ daytime reign may have come to an end — because her show’s syndicator just gave her prime slot to new host Sherri Shepherd.

Sherri will initially launch on stations that are owned and operated by FOX, but an official premiere date has not been announced. As of now, Williams’s show will continue with guest hosts, including Shepherd, who has been a daytime staple since her days on The View.

Williams has been away from the show for several months, citing unspecified illnesses for her absence. A spokesperson for her production company  tells Variety, “When Wendy is back to herself, and if she wants to do the show again, Debmar-Mercury is open to it.”
