RIHANNA: Millions Toward Charities

Rihanna donated $15 million to 18 charities focused on “climate justice” in the United States and seven Caribbean nations.

Rihanna released a statement through her Clara Lionel Foundation, (quote) “Climate disasters, which are growing in frequency and intensity, do not impact all equally. Communities of color and island nations face the brunt of climate change.”

Climate justice movement approaches the environmental issue as political and ethical challenges. Some of the non-profits benefited by Rihanna’s donation include the Climate Justice Alliance, the Indigenous Environmental Network, and the Movement for Black Lives. (PR Newswire)
