There’s one less paparazzi company to hassle Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. This victory could play a part in a Lifetime movie of their exit from the Royal family.
This week, Splash News & Picture Agency filed for bankruptcy. In their paperwork, they blamed the pandemic. Fewer celebs were out in public to snap photos. In addition, tabloids reduced their budgets to purchase those candid pictures.
Splash News specifically blamed Meghan and Harry, who sued them for an invasion of privacy. Shortly after they left London, one of the photographers got pictures of a “private family outing” in a park in Canada. Mounting defense legal bills “drained cash from the business” and forced Splash News into bankruptcy. (The Hollywood Reporter)
Lifetime plans a third instalment of the Harry & Meghan movie series. Escaping the Palace will premiere in the fall. The Oprah Winfrey interview informed much of the plot, which will “reveal what really happened inside the palace.”
The previous movies featured the early days of their romance and then the Royal wedding. Lifetime will cast new actors from the third movie, Escaping the Palace. (Entertainment Tonight)
