JENNIFER LOPEZ: Different Baseball Pitch

Jennifer Lopez sweetened her pitch to purchase the New York Mets baseball team.

She abandoned that dream when Steve Cohen outbid her and fiancé Alex Rodriguez. However, one week later, the deal has not been sealed. J-Lo and her group of investors, , who bid about $2.3 billion for the Mets, revisited the offer with bigger promises. She said (quote) “We feel we have the best bid for the sport, the team and the city.”

J-Lo would control the team. Player payroll would increase to $225. She guarantees a World Series championship this decade. If they fail, they will donate $100 million to New York charities. 

It’s a longshot and can only happen if Steve Cohen does not gain approval from the other Major League owners. They may find Cohen’s legal issues troubling. He’s been sued for sexual discrimination and fined nearly $2 billion for insider trading.
